Biological Process Development Facility
Othmer Hall
Located in Othmer Hall on the University of Nebraska - Lincoln campus, the Biological Process Development Facility (BPDF) is a multidisciplinary facility dedicated to providing process research and development capabilities to transition biopharmaceuticals from discovery to Phase I/II clinical trial.

Using state-of-the-art equipment, pilot-scale facilities, a highly trained staff, and a newly built cGMP suite, the BPDF is well qualified to provide public and private sector clients with process research & development and early manufacturing services starting with strain development and optimization up to final bulk production under cGMP and everything in-between.

With a staff of 29 dedicated scientists, engineers, and administrative personnel, the BPDF is recognized as a leading research laboratory in the development of vaccines and therapeutic agents from bacterial and yeast expression systems.

The BPDF has a wide range of experience and is recognized as the leading expert in the use of Pichia pastoris recombinant expression system. With a focus on producing phase I/II clinical material, the BPDF is able to rapidly develop new processes and produce recombinant therapeutic proteins of the highest quality.
